Toronto Events for August

August is Toronto at its best. The Caribbean Carnival parade takes over Lakeshore, the CNE opens at Exhibition Place for its annual run, Foo Fighters and Guns N’ Roses both hit Rogers Stadium in back-to-back nights, BTS returns for two sold-out nights, and the Jays host five home series including a Yankees weekend. Pack a lot in.
Toronto Caribbean Carnival (Caribana) — Grand Parade
North America’s largest Caribbean festival reaches its climax on the Simcoe Day long weekend (the first Monday of August is a civic holiday in Ontario). The Grand Parade runs along Lakeshore Boulevard West from Dufferin to Exhibition Place. Over 1.3 million people line the route — costumed mas bands, soca and steel pan on flatbed trucks, and the best food vendors in the city. Free to watch anywhere along the route.
Fri–Mon Aug 1–4 (Simcoe Day long weekend) Grand Parade — Lakeshore Blvd West, Exhibition Place. Free. The parade runs Saturday, Aug 1. J’ouvert pre-dawn Friday night.

Blue Jays at Home
Five home series in August, including a four-game Red Sox set and the always-circled Yankees weekend. All times Eastern.

Canadian National Exhibition (The Ex)
The CNE opens in the third week of August and runs through Labour Day (September 7). At Exhibition Place for 18 days: rides, games, food vendors, the Air Show, SuperDogs, nightly entertainment on the Bandshell stage, and the annual Canadian International Air Show over the long weekend. Admission at the gate; midway rides separate.

Concerts
Rogers Stadium brings out three of the biggest names in the world across four nights in August. If you’re going to Foo Fighters or Guns N’ Roses, both nights are back-to-back — worth knowing if you want to catch both.

National Bank Open (Rogers Cup Tennis)
The WTA’s Canadian Open (women’s) returns to Sobeys Stadium at Aviva Centre in Toronto in August. One of the premier clay — now hard court — events on the WTA calendar, with top 10 players in the field. Exact dates typically fall in the second week of August. Check nationalbankopen.com for the 2026 schedule and tickets as they’re released.
One thing to know: The Caribana parade weekend (August 1–3), the Rogers Stadium back-to-back concerts (August 4–5), and CNE opening (August 21) all stack up fast. Rogers Stadium TTC rides are free after shows — take the subway to Sheppard West. For the parade, the Lakeshore route fills up by mid-morning; get there early or watch from the east end near Exhibition Place for the best view.
